The MeCo 5022-Public Relations: Theories and Practices covers the different theoretical and practical approaches of public relations. In doing so, it reviews basic PR principles and practices, theoretical and applied knowledge, generic image and ethics with internal and external contexts of different organizations. It includes the skills and strategies of public relations, along with the effective application and utilization of these skills and techniques in various contexts. In other words, it is intended to develop the students’ understanding of public relations process and practices, evaluation and ways and tools to address public relations to the audience. The course familiarizes students with the role of behavior and reputation in influencing two-way communication. It addresses an increasingly important phenomenon in contemporary democratic societies, namely, the intersection of politics, public relations and the media besides to issues of crisis communication and corporate communication. The latest trends such as e-PR will be covered in the course. Generally, the course covers strategic global practices, PR process and procedures and other PR issues in the new millennium through different teaching-Learning methods.
