COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to equip students with skills and experiences of teaching history. The aims of teaching history, methods of teaching history; traditional methods and active learning, instructional planning, writing instructional objectives, class room management, lesson evolution and assessment and evaluation techniques will also be discussed in details. In addition problems of duties and responsibilities of a history teacher will be treated.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

§  Apply appropriate teaching methods a  lesson for a micro teaching

§  Outline  effective classroom management  strategies

§  Prepare a lesson plan

§  Integrate professional ethics to personal life

§  Set learning objectives

§  Prepare assessment items relevant to assess the achievements of instructional objectives

§  Assess the achievements of instructional objectives in a daily lesson
