Business research is a systematic inquiry that provides information on which to base business decisions. In the existing dynamism and increasing complexity of business decision-making environment, the decision maker needs to consider more variables and seek high quality and reliable information. One way of improving the quality of systematic inquiry is using scientific research. Therefore, you need to have the knowledge and skills of conducting scientific research and its application in decision making. To this end, this course is designed to equip students’ with such knowledge and skills. That is, it gives students’ a preliminary knowledge of the art of using different research methods and techniques in solving research problems. Specifically, it covers scientific inquiry and design of research, research problem definition, measurement and scaling; research methods; sources and tools of data gathering; research proposal writing; analysis and interpretation of data; and research reporting in the area of business.
